Anyhow, my holidays were so tiring, leaving just the 27th and January 3rd for me and my partner to actually breathe. We didn't get to have our own Christmas thing for ourselves. We feel so deprived! Haha. And lo and behold, the long holiday was over and done with.
As for resolution, and one of the most common at that, we're trying to lose weight. Hmm. Like our happy-new-year SMS text went, we hope that it will last past the first few weeks of the year. Ha-ha! Oh and we got our own planners from Starbucks so hopefully we get to plan a lot. Plans that get executed, hopefully!
Career-wise, I'm getting a little bit frustrated applying at different companies with job openings I actually like and I know that I am competent enough to do, and then after every possible interview and exams, I pass--but then positions are not available. Hmm. I know I shouldn't be waiting for a call back for some of them telling me they'll call me back if they're hiring for the next batch but anyhow, I am. Haha. Stupid me, I know.

And by the way, since this is supposedly a travel blog (not so apparent, I know) let me share our latest trials. December 16th, my partner Joycey and I were celebrating her 2-th birthday. We've been racking up our brains where to go, and Tagaytay being my happy place (coincidentally hers too) and the fact that we indulge ourselves lately with home service massages, I suggested we go to spa-resort.
We've tried Sonya's before and I felt it was a little too popular and crowded already, and the plants didn't look refreshing (they looked like drought was on), I Googled Nurture Spa and booked through SMS. (Oh yes, I so love this techie generation!) Still on the techie thing, I bookmarked the website on my phone and used it for reference so my partner can give me directions while I drove. The birthday girl's license expired. Haha!

It was a Wednesday and not a very crowded day at Tagaytay and soon as we turned right onto the street supposedly leading us to the spa, we were on our own. No worries though, as the roads were cemented and there were still signs of life. Haha. Pulling up to their gravel-covered parking lot, only the sound of the engine was audible, apart from the sounds of the birds and the leaves brushing each other as the wind blew. As soon as we got off, we were like, "Okay, nice choice!" Talk about de-stressing and feeling like you're so far away from home.

Walking up to the receptionist, we were greeted, "Welcome home." We have made reservations so it didn't take long before they were ready for us. While waiting we asked if we could check out their rooms (for staying overnight) and we promised ourselves we'd check-in sometime next year. Pictures just won't do for describing the feeling when you're already there, especially on a weekday. We have booked for a three-hour treatment: 1hr body scrub, 1hr wrap, 1hr massage. As we were being led to our treatment room, I jokingly asked the girl, "Wala bang free? Birthday niya eh." She smiled and said that we should have informed her earlier.
Before our session started, the girl came back and said we'll get a complimentary 30-minute facial. Yey! That already made the birthday girl's day! The scrub turned out to be coconut, the wrap was dead sea mud wrap as we requested, then the massage and a honey facial.
Two thumbs up for Nurture Spa! Will definitely go back.
