iTunes US Store Problem

Last night I watched American Idol's Top 7 Redux performance. For the first time since the first season, I finally thought of legally purchasing the songs on iTunes. All thanks to Phillip Phillip's rendition of Usher's "U Got It Bad." I know Niko doesn't like him, but I think that was just amazing.

At work today, I open my iTunes, fumble around it, and found out I can't purchase for US iTunes store. What a bummer! Would music companies prefer that people wait for it to be available on shareware rather than make some money out of it? With how American Idol is made international, they should be cashing in.

Unfortunately you really will need a US credit card and address. Go underground instead.

I'm trying to figure out if using an iTunes card would make a diff. A US iTunes card?

Sorry. Late reply. Hehe.

You can use your iTunes card (Data Blitz pala, meron nun? Galing!) but to have an account you'll still need a US address. You can ask a US-based friend for that.

Apple might ask for a US credit card still though. I'm sure you can tell Apple when you first register that you're using an iTunes gift card but I dunno if it'll work.

If I login using a friend's US account and purchase using iTunes gift card, will it be stored on my iTunes for me to transfer to my iPhone (which is usually logged in with my PH iTunes account)?

Hah. Not sure if I explained that well.

You can always convert it to MP3 (within iTunes) so the transition's seamless. That works for most downloads.
